Dr. Steven Hoff is a professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering at Iowa State University. Dr. Hoff received his bachelor degrees from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the University of Minnesota. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Hoff is a member and Fellow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
Dr. Hoff’s areas of teaching include environmental climate control for animal housing, sensor development, controller development, and air emission measurement and control technologies for animal production systems. His areas of research include evaluation of and design conditions for efficient and sustainable animal production systems, which includes air emission quantification, odor dispersion, and environmental climate control. Dr. Hoff has five patents and two copyrighted software routines received as a result of his research.
