Overview of February Conference Call
- Review of 2016 Summit Attendee Evaluations
- Future dates – Calgary had overwhelming votes, but several other locations suggested (NC, TX, Montreal, San Francisco, Bannff, Toronto) Carolyn is working on a summer visit to Calgary to see if the cost is viable for us to hold Summit there,
- get information from breakout sessions; for 2017 will ask each speaker to provide no more than 1 page summary of their topic. May need to provide a financial incentive for on-time completion.
- Speakers from as many geographic locations as possible; we will need everyone’s assistance to suggest speakers.
- More interaction, less lectures; will continue to stress this to speakers, need moderatos to enforce.
- Better ground transportation from airport; will encourage attendees to arrange own transportation (shuttle, taxi, uber) and reimburse a set amount at registration. Shuttle to hotel appears to be about $40, but will confirm and pay that value at check.
- Another Consumer Panel; Do another consumer panel, focus on millennials, where they got their news from for election, how they feel about agriculture. Will need help from participants on questions to include.
- Want opportunities where legislators talk about the important issues; will do, but we need moderators to volunteer and topics to entitle them.
